The Minki Method: Your Hair Oiling Warm Up Routine
The misconceptions I've seen as an Indian girl on social media about 'how to hair oil' are giving you NO RESULTS at best, and causing HAIR LOSS at worst.
It isn't about oil going directly onto your scalp with a pipette- there are three important steps you must take in the prep work BEFORE you hair oil.
Here's what you should be doing before a drop of oil evenTOUCHESyour scalp.
1) pour
Pour the oil from the bottle into your HANDS. Not directly into your scalp, into your hands. Your hands heat up the oil you're using (aka hot oiling), which helps penetrate your hair much more effectively than cold oil poured directly on your scalp.
A common question folks have is"how much oil do I use?"the amount I'm using above is sufficient- about half a palmful, twice for your scalp, and half a palmful for your lengths and ends.
The caveat here is that this will also depend on your hair density and length. If you're unsure of how much you should use, feel free to reply to this email and I'll help you out!
2) rub
Rub your hands together to distribute, from the palms of your hand to your fingertips.
3) apply
At this point, your hands should look thisshiny. It's now time to go in with your hands and massage your scalp.
Now you're set for success! Things to keep in mind from this point includehitting Ayurvedic hair growth pressure pointsand massaging for10-15 minutes.
